Final parctice: the challenge to the theme I've avoided for years.
All done with Photoshop6 as usual.

Natsu matsuri, or summer festival, is Japanese style festival held in summer season, usually for regional or religious reasons.
This is the scene of street, maybe to the place the festival's being held. Along the street are many of yatai(roofed shops).

There are many things which should be improved. Perspective, yukata, the expression of fireworks, are the most concerns. I'll keep trying to learn better ways to explain them.
Nevertheless, I believe I have been able to explain the atmosphere of natsu matsuri well.

Sorry if you expected "winged girls" picture. It'll be the next time ^^

The perspective isn't bad at all! I mean- it isn't perfect, but still! As to the fireworks- the dots are too seperated, I'd use a blur to show that they all came from a central source. There's also no smoke. The sky should faintly reflect the red light coming off of the fireworks because of the smoke.

I don't think you did a bad job at all! The perspective looks nice, though the boys leg seems a little strange to me xD
The patterns and different lettering for all the different rooftops is so neat ^__^
The girl's dragonfly kimono is so cool >__<

I especially like the lighting on this, and I like the fireworks! ((Probably because I love going and watching fireworks every summer...XD))

You did an awesome job~! (~^3^)~
